SinceBoys & Girls Clubs and the at-risk youth they serve have benefited from grant funding provided by the Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP).

As a result, Club mentoring programs in underserved communities have been expanded and enhanced exponentially. The Mentoring Opportunities for Youth Initiative, Category 5 (Statewide and Regional Mentoring Initiative for Youth Impacted by Opioids) supports a broad-based approach to building mentoring program capacity in targeted regions throughout the country to help youth impacted by opioids.

This program is authorized and funded pursuant to Pub.Stat. 13, Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) is a national organization of local chapters which provide voluntary after-school programs for young people. The organization, which holds a congressional charter under Title 36 of the United States Code, has its headquarters in Atlanta, with regional offices in Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, New York City and Los Angeles.
